Depart Cusco at 4:00 a.m. and board an early train to KM 104, the gateway to the legendary Inca Trail. After passport check-in, hike one of the most iconic sections of the trail in a single day—walking along original stone paths, visiting Chachabamba and Wiñay Wayna, and arriving at the Inti Punku in the afternoon for your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu.
Continue with a guided exploration of Machu Picchu via Circuit 1, home to its most celebrated viewpoints. Take in panoramic 360° vistas of the citadel and the Urubamba River below, while benefiting from a quieter experience in the late afternoon once the majority of visitors have departed. With permits, expert guiding, train and bus tickets, and freshly prepared picnic meals included, every detail is seamlessly managed—so you can fully immerse yourself in the journey.
After your visit, descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, return by scenic train to Ollantaytambo, and continue by vehicle back to Cusco, arriving around 9:30 p.m. Ideal for travelers seeking a true hiking adventure without committing to a multi-day trek, this experience lets you walk the Inca Trail, enter Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate, and enjoy its most iconic views with fewer crowds. Book in advance—permits are strictly limited.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 4:00 am (the exact time may vary depending on your location). If you are staying in the Sacred Valley near Ollantaytambo, pick-up will be around 5:30 am. From there, we will travel for about 1.5 hours to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board the Expedition train to KM 104—the starting point of your Inca Trail experience. Upon arrival, you will present your passport and official Inca Trail permits for entry. A freshly prepared picnic breakfast, including coffee and coca tea, will be ready for you.
After breakfast, your journey along the iconic Inca Trail begins. You will first visit Chachabamba, a remarkable archaeological site located near the Urubamba River. From there, you will begin a gradual ascent along the original Inca pathway, surrounded by breathtaking Andean landscapes. Along the route, you will enjoy panoramic views of archaeological sites such as Choquesuysuy and Intipata. The hike continues for approximately 3 to 4 hours until reaching the impressive Wiñay Wayna. During this section, you will pass through lush cloud forest, observe orchids and small waterfalls, and gain approximately 600 meters (1,970 feet) in elevation.
At Wiñay Wayna, you will explore one of the most significant and visually stunning sites along the Inca Trail. Accompanied by our expert guides, you will discover its agricultural terraces, ceremonial fountains, and intricate stonework—an outstanding example of Inca engineering built into a steep mountainside. This site is widely regarded as one of the highlights of the entire trail network. Lunch will be served at a nearby campsite, where our chef will provide a freshly prepared meal made with local ingredients. Meals are served buffet-style, with a variety of options available, including accommodations for dietary preferences.
After lunch, you will continue with the final stretch of the Inca Trail. It takes approximately one hour to reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you will enjoy your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu—a truly unforgettable moment. There will be time to rest, take in the scenery, and capture photographs. From there, you will continue descending along the stone pathway toward the citadel. After approximately one additional hour, you will arrive at the upper section of Machu Picchu (Circuit 1), which offers access to the most iconic viewpoints.
You will explore Circuit 1 of Machu Picchu, including the Guard House, the Sacred Rock, and several panoramic viewpoints on both sides of the citadel, with the Urubamba River flowing far below. This schedule allows you to explore the site at a quieter time of day, providing a more exclusive experience with fewer crowds—ideal for photography and a more immersive visit.
After your visit, you will exit Machu Picchu and take the bus down to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). Here, you will have free time to enjoy dinner and explore the local market before boarding the Expedition train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting to transfer you back to Cusco. The estimated arrival time in Cusco is around 9:30 pm, marking the end of the service.
Important: This experience includes entry to Machu Picchu via Circuit 1, granting access to the most iconic panoramic viewpoints in the upper section of the citadel. Please note that this route does not include entry to the central areas, such as the Temple of the Sun or the main urban sector. Your guide will provide a comprehensive interpretation from the designated viewpoints, and many visitors choose Circuit 1 for its breathtaking scenery and complete overview of the site.
For a more in-depth exploration, additional entry tickets can be arranged. You may extend your stay with an extra hotel night and return the following day—either with a guide or independently—to access other circuits. Optional add-ons, such as Huayna Picchu or the Gran Caverna, are also available depending on seasonal availability.
Feel free to contact us to customize your experience with additional tickets or services. We also offer an extended 2-day version of the Inca Trail for a more immersive journey.

As this is a full-day hiking experience with no road access, you will travel light. The trek involves approximately 6 to 7 hours of hiking to Machu Picchu, so all essential items should be carried in your daypack.
We recommend bringing a comfortable 30 to 45-liter hiking backpack, ideally with side pockets or compatibility for a hydration system. Your backpack should be lightweight, ergonomic, and spacious enough to carry water, snacks, extra clothing, and all essentials needed for a full day on the Inca Trail and at Machu Picchu.
The 1-Day Inca Trail follows a preserved segment of the original road network engineered by the Inca civilization. To protect its cultural integrity and surrounding ecosystems, access is strictly limited through a permit system—making advance booking essential.
This experience offers a time-efficient alternative to the full multi-day trek, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in an authentic section of the Classic Inca Trail while accommodating tighter schedules without compromising the essence of the journey.
Machu Picchu operates under a regulated system of fixed visitor circuits to preserve its integrity. This experience includes access to Circuit 1, which leads through the upper terraces and the most iconic panoramic viewpoints. From this route, you’ll capture breathtaking, wide-angle views of the citadel and its surrounding Andean landscape.
Please note that Circuit 1 does not grant entry to the main archaeological core. Travelers wishing to explore deeper into the site may purchase an additional ticket for Circuit 2 or 3, subject to availability.
Aguas Calientes, officially known as Aguas Calientes, is a charming town nestled at the gateway to Machu Picchu. For travelers choosing to stay overnight, it offers the perfect balance of relaxation and cultural immersion:

Yes. Circuit 1 grants access to Machu Picchu’s most iconic viewpoints, offering sweeping panoramic vistas of the citadel. If you’d like to extend your experience or explore different sectors in greater depth, consider an overnight stay and secure an additional entry with Circuit 2 or 3.
You should be in good physical condition. While the trail includes some uphill stretches and is affected by high altitude, the majority of travelers are able to complete it comfortably by maintaining a steady, manageable pace.
Spend a minimum of two days in Cusco prior to your hike to properly acclimatize to the altitude. Maintain consistent hydration, opt for light, balanced meals, and avoid alcohol in the days leading up to your trek.
Not recommended. Permits for the Inca Trail 1 Day are highly limited and tend to sell out quickly—particularly during peak season. We strongly advise securing your reservation several months in advance to ensure availability.
The tour operates in all weather conditions. We recommend bringing a poncho or rain jacket during the wet season, as the landscapes remain breathtaking regardless of the weather.
Children of older age who are accustomed to hiking and can handle higher altitudes generally adapt well. We invite you to reach out so we can tailor the experience to your family’s specific needs.
Tips are optional but greatly valued. They provide a meaningful way to show appreciation for the dedication and effort of your guide and driver.
It’s advisable to carry some cash for snacks, gratuities, or incidental purchases in Aguas Calientes and during the journey.
