Your Moray, Maras and Chinchero tour from Cusco begins with hotel pickup at 8:00 a.m. or 12:30 p.m., giving you the flexibility to choose a morning or afternoon departure. From Cusco, we travel approximately one hour through the spectacular Andean highlands to Moray (3,385 m / 11,110 ft), one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley.

At Moray, explore the famous circular Inca terraces, believed to have been used for agricultural experimentation. The different levels created unique microclimates, allowing the Incas to study crops and adapt them to varying environmental conditions. Accompanied by an experienced local guide, you will discover how this impressive site demonstrates the advanced agricultural knowledge, engineering, and creativity of the Inca civilization.

We then continue to Maras (3,385 m / 11,105 ft), a historic Andean town surrounded by spectacular mountain landscapes. Once associated with Inca nobility, Maras later became an important colonial settlement and trading center. Its traditional adobe houses, narrow streets, and peaceful atmosphere offer an authentic glimpse into the cultural heritage of the Sacred Valley of Peru.

One of the main attractions is the Maras Salt Mines (3,200 m / 10,498 ft), located approximately 20 minutes from the town of Maras. These ancient salt ponds have been used since pre-Inca times, and local families continue to collect salt using traditional methods passed down through generations. Thousands of small white salt pools cascade down the mountainside, creating a spectacular and highly photogenic landscape near Cusco.

From the salt mines, we continue for approximately 40 minutes to Chinchero (3,762 m / 12,343 ft), a picturesque highland town famous for its traditional weaving, Inca heritage, and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

In Chinchero, you will learn about traditional Andean textile weaving, including how local artisans use natural fibers, plant-based dyes, and ancestral techniques to create colorful textiles. The patterns and designs reflect the history, beliefs, and cultural identity of the Andean communities.

You will also explore the Chinchero archaeological site, where Inca remains blend with colonial architecture and impressive mountain scenery. After completing the visit, we return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel or a convenient central location.
