Through the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR), Peru has implemented a policy aimed at preventing and combating the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA). TRAVEL ON GREEN is committed to this initiative and has adopted the ESNNA Code of Conduct, working in coordination with the relevant authorities and tourism partners to help prevent, identify, and eliminate sexual exploitation involving children and adolescents within the tourism sector.
Our commitment reflects our responsibility to promote safe, ethical, and sustainable tourism while protecting the rights and well-being of children and adolescents.
ESNNA and Our Commitment
The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (MINCETUR) has developed a comprehensive initiative focused on social development and the protection of vulnerable populations. This initiative is continuously strengthened and updated to address the challenges associated with the prevention of the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
The main purpose of the ESNNA initiative is to raise awareness and provide education and training across all sectors of Peruvian society, with the fundamental objective of preventing and ultimately eliminating the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
In line with these principles, tourism agencies that participate in and are certified under the ESNNA program commit to a Code of Conduct signed with MINCETUR. This commitment requires tourism companies to promote and communicate the program, its guidelines, and its objectives, while also providing appropriate training and awareness to their employees, collaborators, and service providers.
TRAVEL ON GREEN is committed to operating in accordance with all the requirements established by the ESNNA Code of Conduct. We recognize the responsibility of the tourism industry in helping create safer destinations and protecting children and adolescents from all forms of sexual exploitation.
Unfortunately, the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents remains a persistent issue in Peru. However, ongoing efforts by public institutions, businesses, and civil society continue to address and prevent this serious problem.
Through our commitment to ethical and responsible tourism, TRAVEL ON GREEN seeks to contribute positively to the communities and destinations where we operate, supporting sustainable local development and creating tourism experiences based on respect, safety, and social responsibility.
By adhering to the ESNNA program and its Code of Conduct, we reaffirm our commitment to helping prevent, reduce, and ultimately eliminate the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents throughout Peru.
By adopting and complying with the ESNNA Code of Conduct, TRAVEL ON GREEN has established clear guidelines to ensure continuous preventive actions and to promote responsible practices throughout our organization and tourism partners.
Our entire team—including office staff and our logistics personnel such as tour guides, cooks, drivers, and porters—receives ongoing training on the principles and requirements of the ESNNA Code of Conduct. These training initiatives help ensure that our personnel understand their responsibilities and take appropriate measures to prevent any conduct that may violate applicable regulations.
TRAVEL ON GREEN does not offer, promote, facilitate, or participate in any tourism activity that violates the ESNNA Code of Conduct. We strictly reject any request or activity related to the sexual exploitation of children or adolescents, in accordance with our ethical principles, corporate policies, and applicable Peruvian laws.
We also work closely with our business partners, including hotels, restaurants, transportation providers, guides, and other tourism service providers, to promote compliance with the objectives and commitments established under the ESNNA program throughout every stage of the tourism services we provide.
Everyone involved with TRAVEL ON GREEN, including our employees, service providers, and commercial partners, shares the responsibility of supporting compliance with the ESNNA Code. Any suspected violation or attempt to violate these principles must be reported to the appropriate authorities in accordance with applicable procedures.
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies, TRAVEL ON GREEN gives priority to implementing, promoting, and continuously strengthening the actions and commitments established under the ESNNA Code, contributing to a safer, more responsible, and ethical tourism industry in Peru.
